The Built Environment Department in the School of Engineering and Technology, CQUniversity is proudly hosting the 40th annual AUBEA conference focusing on Radical Innovation in the Built Environment. The 21st century challenges us to change. Radical Innovation will serve as a foundation towards achieving an expanding and sustainable Built Environment for educators and industry.
The 2016 AUBEA Conference will be held in Cairns, Australia, 6-8 July 2016. The location and timing of this conference provide delegates with an unbridled opportunity to combine conference attendance and exploration of far northern Queensland with family. With this mind, the organisers have secured special hotel room rates for 3 days prior and 3 days post conference.
The Australasian Universities Building Education Association (AUBEA) was established in 1975 to promote and improve teaching and research in building through communication and collaboration. It comprises academics representing all universities providing education in building-related fields in Australasia and beyond. AUBEA maintains a strong connection to industry and professional associations and since its inception has organised annual conferences.
The annual AUBEA conference brings together building and construction researchers, educators and industry practitioners from Australasia and internationally, providing participants with a strong platform for knowledge sharing, collaboration, disciplinary reflections, institutional exchange and collective growth.
The CQUniversity School of Engineering and Technology is a vibrant and rapidly growing school with more than 120 staff and nearly 1200 students. With more than 20 campuses across Australia, CQUniversity has unrivalled access to the engine room of Australia’s mineral and construction industry – which in turn provides a multitude of opportunities to students studying Engineering, Built Environment or Information Technology programs.
The 40th AUBEA conference is a double-blind peer-reviewed conference. Papers of high standard presented at the conference will be considered for publication in a conference issue of Construction Economics and Building (ISSN 2204-9029).
We look forward to seeing you in Cairns, 6-8 July 2016.
